The Deans' Bible
"The Deans' Bible: Five Purdue Women and Their Quest for Equality," a biography and history of America published by Purdue University Press and authored by Angie Klink. From 1930s to 1990s these indomitable, courageous women were examples, mentors, and advocates for women students, women in America, and those with disabilities. Dorothy Stratton was the founder and director of the Women's Reserve of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. She named it SPARs. "The Deans' Bible" is history with heart.

Helen B. Schleman - Schleman come to Purdue in 1934 to become Director of Women's Residence Halls. She was appointed Dean of Women in 1947 and served in that post until her retirement in 1968. Schleman (SCHL) Hall of Student Services was dedicated in Helen’s honor in April 1990.
