This layout is from Vogue Magazine. Even though you can't see the entire letter in the page, your eye automatically closes the shape and identifies the character. I also like the alignment in the text.
I chose to research Didot for this serif poster. I find it interesting that the French typeface Didot was such a transition away from Baskerville, and paved the way considerably for the perhaps more well-known Bodoni.
