It's sad that so many public school history curriculums water down this stuff. Sure it's depressing, but it happened, and people need to know about it. Patriotism shouldn't be used as an excuse to rewrite history!
Rare Photograph Of Slave. A haunting 150-year-old photo found in a North Carolina attic shows a young black child named John, barefoot and wearing ragged clothes, perched on a barrel next to another unidentified young boy. In April, the photo was found at a moving sale in Charlotte, accompanied by a document detailing the sale of John for one thousand five hundred dollars- not a small sum in 1854.
As incrediblily shocking as the European Black Genocide was, it's pales in comparison to the Genocide in the Americas, where an estimated 90 million Blacks and Amerindians (mostly Blacks - they were the original settlers in the Americas too), perished between 1492 and 1650.
