Crock pot lasagna. 1 pound bulk Italian sausage 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup) 3 cans (15 ounces each) Italian-style tomato sauce 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces) 1 container (15 ounces) part-skim ricotta cheese 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese 15 uncooked lasagna noodles Cook sausage and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, basil and salt. 2 Mix 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese and the ricotta and Parmesan cheeses. (Refrigerate remaining mozzarella cheese while lasagna cooks.) 3 Spoon one-fourth of the sausage mixture into 6-quart slow cooker; top with 5 noodles, broken into pieces to fit. Spread with half of the cheese mixture and one-fourth of the sausage mixture. Top with 5 noodles, remaining cheese mixture and one-fourth of the sausage mixture. Top with remaining 5 noodles and remaining sausage mixture. 4 Cover and cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours or until noodles are tender. 5 Sprinkle top of lasagna with remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Cover and let stand about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Cut into pieces.

Bubble Up Pizza Casserole from Weight Watcher Boards 8 servings Points Plus = 10 per serving 1 pound 96% lean ground beef 2 teaspoons onion powder, or 1 onion, chopped 16 ounces tomato sauce 1/2 teaspoon dried basil 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 15 ounces refrigerated buttermilk biscuits, buttermilk Add whatever typical pizza toppings you like, green pepper, turkey pepperoni, mushrooms, etc. 1 1/4 cups part skim milk mozzarella cheese, shredded 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In skillet, brown meat over medium high heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Stir in onion powder, tomato sauce, basil, garlic and Italian seasoning. 2. Add quartered biscuits; stir gently until biscuits are covered with sauce. Mix in toppings of your choosing. Spoon mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake for 25 minutes. *Baked Black Bean Sweet Potato Flautas- 9 corn tortillas, 1 c black beans, 1 cup mexi-corn, 1 sm/m sweet potato, 1/4 c onion (diced), 1/2 t chili powder, 1/2 t garlic powder, 1/2 t cilantro, 1/2 t cumin, 1/4 t cayenne pepper/red pepper flakes, 2 oz cream cheese (room temperature), 4-6 oz cheese (grated), 1-2 heaping tablespoons taco sauce/salsa, salt/pepper, oil, fresh veggies or herbs to garnish, Dipping stuff

Baked black bean flautas Baked Black Bean + Sweet Potato Flautas [makes 9 cripsy & cheesy veggie flautas] what's in it? 9 corn tortillas 1 cup of black beans 1 cup mexi-corn [corn + colorful red/green peppers!] 1 small/medium sweet potato 1/4 cup of diced white, yellow, or red onion 1/2 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp dried or fresh cilantro 1/2 tsp cumin 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes [optional] 2oz cream cheese, room temperature [optional] 4-6 ounces of grated cheese [habanero cheddar, cheddar, pepper jack, etc...] 1-2 heaping tablespoons [or more!] of taco sauce, enchilada sauce, or salsa salt and pepper to taste all-natural olive oil spray or plain oil parsley + fresh veggies to garnish salsa, guacamole, and plain greek yogurt (or sour cream!) for dipping Pre-heat your oven to 425F. Poke a few holes in your sweet potato, wrap it in a slightly damp paper towel, and microwave on high for about 6-8 minutes. [The paper towel trick keeps the potato moist] While you wait, combine corn/peppers/onion with your black beans, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, cilantro, cayenne, and taco sauce/salsa. Your cayenne and red pepper flakes will control the spice-factor; adjust to taste. I alternate between using my favorite flavorful red enchilada sauce, spicy taco sauce, and a natural, zesty salsa like Mrs. Renfros Green Salsa. Add the sweet potato [minus the skin] to the rest of your veggies and mix thoroughly. Add salt, pepper, and any additional seasoning to taste. I usually add a little extra sprinkle chili powder, cumin, and garlic! Next wrap your corn tortillas in a damp paper towel, followed by a dry paper towel, and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Follow it up with an additional 30 seconds. The goal here is to steam the tortillas so they roll into perfect flautas without breaking or cracking =) This trick works like a charm! Spray or rub one side of the tortilla with oil and add "line" of veggie filling to the center of the "dry side" of the tortilla, about 1-inch thick. Top it off with a layer of cheese [as much or as little as you want!] and roll the tortilla. Place on a wire baking/cooling rack and seal with a toothpick, if needed. Repeat these steps until you have a rack full of flautas. Give them one more teeny spritz of olive oil to get them extra crispy [no-frying! whoo!] and set on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Bake on the middle rack, at 425F, for 15 minutes. At the end, set to broil on HIGH for just under a minute to crisp the tortillas into a perfectly golden, crunchy shell.
How to Frost a Cake: 1. Cover your cake with a crumb coat (very thin layer of frosting). 2. Prepare a decorating bag with a large round tip (Wilton #12). 3. Pipe a vertical line of dots on the side of your cake. 4. Use a small spatula to press down on each dot, dragging to the right. 5. Make another line of dots, just to the right of your petals. The Spanglish Sandwich with Avocado. Do you remember the Spanglish Sandwich? This was the sandwich that chef Thomas Keller developed for Adam Sandler to make in the movie Spanglish. It had to justify the title the "world's greatest sandwich," and by the way the recipe immediately flew around the internet, it did seem like it achieved that! It's basically a bacon-lettuce-tomato sandwich dressed up with a fried egg and drippy egg yolk. Delicious! It's an indulgence for a busy night since it comes together quickly, and it's filling without being too heavy. It's comfort food and brain food at the same time. And if you want to dress it up just a little more, or leave off the egg, try topping it with avocado like in the top photo. We first published this recipe several years ago -- here it is again. World's Greatest Sandwich from Thomas Keller makes 1 sandwich 3-4 slices of bacon 2 slices of Monterey Jack cheese 2 slices of toasted rustic country loaf (pain de campagne) 1 tbsp of mayo 4 tomato slices 2 leaves of butter lettuce (yes, it's called butter lettuce) 1 teaspoon butter 1 egg Preparation: 1. Cook the bacon until crisp, drain on paper towels 2. Place slices of cheese on one side of toasted bread. Place in toaster oven or under broiler to melt. 3. Spread mayo on other slice of bread top with bacon, sliced tomato, and lettuce 4. On non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Top with Sauce serve with Brown Rice.
