This seems to be the same dress, but in the first picture, there is a pale blue insert on the bodice using (apparently) the same material as the skirt & cuffs. The Costume Gallery of the Pitti Palace in Florence says this is a wedding dress made in Naples between 1876 & 1878 (photo: Marcello Bertoni). The picture on the bottom was taken by a tourist, Joseph Hilsey, for his blog, Material World, and is described as "Yellow and cream striped silk over pale blue underskirt, ca. 1878."

Evening Dress, Fox, Paris or New York, ca. 1909 Light aqua silk velvet with peach silk satin, metallic lace, beadwork, & silk flowers Western Reserve Historical Society: "With its interplay of reflective materials, this romantic evening dress characterizes the close of La Belle Époque, the “beautiful era” during which the arts flourished in Paris. The owner of the dress was a woman of cultivated taste, most likely Jane Taft Ingalls, the niece of President William Howard Taft."
