This is the 3rd book I've read in the past month by John Harwood and I am quickly becoming a fan. The Asylum is a psychological thriller set in the 19th century and as soon as the first chapter opens you are right there with the main character, panicking at the circumstances she finds herself in. I enjoy how Harwood uses different and unreliable narrators to reveal the story. Fun read.
"WOW! This story had so many twists and turns, and keeping you on the edge as to what was going to happen next, that I literally couldn't sit still! At times it was so intense I just had to put the book down . . . AND WALK AWAY . . . I love books that draw you in, and Mr. Bell does this very well. The story was so realistic and believable that it read like it had been taken from the headlines. Riveting. Engrossing. Suspenseful. I look forward to reading this author again."
