The Melungeons (1600s- ) are a mixed-race people in America who live in the Appalachian mountains where Tennessee meets Virginia meets Kentucky. There are about 50,000 of them. They look mainly white nowadays but in the 1690s French traders said they looked like Moors (the Berbers of north-west Africa). They looked neither white nor black nor American Indian.
Nevada Indian legend of 12 foot red-haired giants that lived in the area when they arrived. The story has the Native American's killing off the giants at a cave. Excavations of guano in 1911 turned up this human jaw. Here it is compared to a casting of a normal man's jawbone. In 1931 two skeletons were found in a lake bed. One was 8' tall, the other just under 10' tall.
Alexandra David-Néel: Born in 1868 in Paris, by the time she was 18 she’d traveled around Europe & was a member of the Theosophical Society. When she was in her 40s she traveled to India to study Buddhism, met a prince, and possibly had an affair with him. During her travels in Asia, she lived in a cave, adopted a monk & traveled to Tibet at a time it was closed to foreigners. She met the 13th Dalai Lama which no European lady had ever done before. She died AT THE AGE OF 101 in 1969.
Alexandria’s Genesis, also known as ”violet eyes” (a mutation). When someone is born with Alexandria’s Genesis, his eyes are blue or gray at birth.After six months, the eyes begin to change their original color to purple, and it lasts six months. During puberty, the color deepens to dark purple, a purple color, a royal purple, or blue-violet and remains so. It does not affect a person’s vision. Women that are born with this genetic mutation do not menstruate, but are fully fertile. Win win.
