Hailey's dreams have always been, well…vivid. As in monsters from her nightmares follow her into her waking life vivid. Eighteen-year-old Hailey finds there's only one place that offers her safety–a ParaScience university in Alaska. There, she studies the science of the supernatural and must learn to live with a roommate from Hell, survive her ParaScience classes, and hope the only creature who can save her from an evil immortal doesn't decide to kill her himself.
When Hailey asks Fin if he knows where her roommate is, his response is rather snarky: "I don't know, filing her demon teeth?" This one exchange in EERIE gave rise to the Indispensable Banshee Tooth File, which is in fact a nail file. I have hundreds of them, so if you want one, just ask.
Hailey enrolls in the world's premier ParaScience university in a town called The Middle of Nowhere, Alaska. Bear Towne University boasts not only premier colleges in ParaScience and Geology, but also a fairly fierce hockey team. Their mascot--the Yetis.
Bear Towne University ParaScience students are equipped with many instruments to measure and study natural and supernatural phenomenons. Indispensable Magnoggles, for example, enable students to see the Aurora Borealis through the lens of their soul's eye, making the appear different to everyone. Hailey sees a rose in the lights where Giselle sees a symbol that restores her hope.
In EERIE, Asher struggles with his newfound emotions. He's been trapped on Earth for 3,000 years, and until he was infected by feelings, his only goal was to return to his home--his paradise--in the Aether. But now that he feels emotions, he finds a new paradise, a new home (as infuriating as it is) in love with Hailey.
Hailey and Asher have known each other for Hailey's entire life. Asher is her hero and the one "man" she feels she can always count on. But when her romantic feelings for someone else grow, Asher doesn't take it very kindly...
