The Pirate's House in Savanna, Ga. Tour guide told us the color around the windows and doors is 'haint blue' because it haint green and it haint blue (haha). They said the color was used on doors and windows because it keeps ghosts from crossing through. Spooky.
See http://www.irelandonvideo.com/ The Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary is home to the ruins of a great Celtic cathedral. Legend associates the Rock of Cashel with St. Patrick. The hill was originally the residence of the kings of Munster. Excavations have revealed some evidence of burials and church buildings from the 9th or 10th century, but it was in the early 12th century that the Rock began to be developed into a major Christian center.
