An East German soldier helping a boy cross the newly formed ‘Berlin Wall,’ 1961. From what is known, the photograph was taken the day the emerging Wall was put up in August 1961 and the boy was found on the opposite side of the wall from his family. Despite given orders by the East German government to let no one pass, the soldier helped the boy through the barbwire. Near the exact time this photo was taken, it was said that the soldier was seen by his superior officer who relieved him.

A funny but FAKE vintage ad: Babies and soda - "start cola earlier!"
PARA DEBATE: DROGAS & COCACOLA BEVERAGE: How soon is too soon? Not soon enough. Laboratory tests over the last few years have proven that babies who start drinking soda during that early formative period have a much higher chance of gaining acceptance and 'fitting in' during those awkward pre-teen and teen years! So funny.
Start Cola Earlier vintage ad - Coca Cola
Some perspective on advertising, the lab tests they quote, the start of obesity, & ads in general..."For a better start in life start COLA earlier! How soon is too soon? Not soon enough. Lab tests have proven that babies who start drinking soda during "early formation period" have a much higher chance of gaining acceptance & fitting in. So, do urself & ur child a favor. Start them on a "strict regimen"of sodas & other sugary carbonated bev. right now, for a lifetime of guarenteed happiness."
