The Lady of Shalott. In looking for an image to express the spirit of Buck Creek, this is what comes to mind. Only in my mind's eye, I see her standing in the water, with her white dress flowing out around her. The story of the lady is meaningful too. It is symbolic of the passage of time, and letting go of the past.
John William Waterhouse: Circe Invidiosa c. 1892 :: I'd love to see this restored or even do it digitally myself. In the larger image you can see the severe cracks in the oil and discoloration and fading of the paint. It's just so beautiful.
