If you have a blank wall what better way to give it life than sturdy built-in bookshelves, like these in the home of gallerist Rebecca Hossack. Note the way that the size of the shelves subtly increases, so that small light books snugly fill the top, while the largest, heaviest tombs have ample room at the bottom.
I wonder if when we renovate the office/study/library, if we should carve out an area as a special place for Ms. G to do her homework, etc. She has a desk in her room, but the family computer will be in the study, and it would be nice for her to have a special place, carved out and away from the distractions in her room, etc. Hm. Something to think about.
