At etsy. This beautiful exhuberant red recycled sari silk ribbon is a by product from silk sari manufacturing in India. It is the waste silk sari fabric from the textile mills where they make saris. This yarn is hand cut strips of silk sari fabric and tied together end to end and made into skeins. It is done by women's co-operatives and small businesses in India, suitable for Knitting, crochet, rug hooking, bags, wall hangings, jewellery, weaving and all sorts of fibre art projects.
If you like to work with recycled sari ribbon like I do for weaving, flower making, then the best I've found is designtalentedone's. Love this deep violet skein. My favorite color next to turquoise.

Mixed Neutrals Recycled Silk Sari Ribbon Yarn
Gorgeous solid recycled silk sari ribbon with strips of silk (and some rayon) fabric sewed to each other. This listing is for 6 yards of ribbon. The silk strips are about .5 inch inches wide on average but vary in width from thicker to much thinner and have unfinished edges. The texture of this ribbon is very soft and feels well worn like an antique textile. Please be aware that colors will not appear exactly the same on all computer monitors. Wonderful for collage, mixed media, jewelry or gift wrapping. Will come to you wrapped in a little bundle. Photographs are stock and representative of the ribbons you will receive.
❧ Couleur : Paprika, brique ❧
Silk sari's are ripped into strips of ribbon and stitched end to end. The ribbon has a fading to light and dark. This green is more earthy and not as bright as the kelly green. It's like looking at moss, you see light and dark greens. It's about 20-23 yards long or 50grams in weight. Width can vary from 1/2" to 1". The width of the ribbon effects the weight (50g) so therefore it effects what the yardage is. It is stitched end to end, might have one tiny knot or two. It's just lovely. This will make your project truly grasp nature. A good color for spring! Weave it, knit it, tie it, and create it!
