Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor This book has been going nuts over on Goodreads so I thought I would pick it up and give it a go. I am not a big fan of Young Adult Fantasy as I usually find it patronising and 'childish' (well what else would you expect from books aimed at teenagers) but this one is different. The book is set in a beautiful location and is not afraid to challenge the reader with its language.

Book review - 'The Immortal Rules' Blood of Eden Series Book 1 by Julie Kagawa
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa. The best Y.A. Vampire book I have ever read, hands down. The book is about Allison who has to choose between death and becoming a vampire, the thing she hates most, in order to survive. After becoming and learning how to be a vampire, she is forced to flee the city and joins a band of humans who are seeking a cure for the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires. There's a bit of romance thrown in, but it's really about survival
All around awesome book cover!

Books like the Hunger Games and Delirium have made young adult dystopian fiction wildly popular and Partials is a great addition to the genre. The dystopian world of the Partials is well built and the politics are believable. Kira is a likable character and I found her reactions to the world in which she lives relatable. Fragments, the second book in the series, was released in February.
