Graduation! An alphabet rhyme/chant that relates what happens when the whole alphabet tries to climb a coconut tree.
Graduation! Sleepy letters of the alphabet get ready for bed.
Graduation! We did Action A to Z, where we did an action for every letter of the alphabet. Then the kids lied on the backs and they watched as all the letters from the alphabet went flying over their heads.
Letter Z = Zoo. The zoo animals go on strike until the tears of a disappointed little girl make them realize that they actually like what they do.
Letter Z = Zoo. We played Zoo Animal Bingo!
Letter Z = Zoo. We sang the zoo animal song "You Can Hear," which is sung to the tune of She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain.
Letter Z = Zebra. We put stripes on the letter Z to make a Zebra!!
Letter Y = Yawn. A comical cautionary tale for bedtime-resistant youngsters which challenges them to avoid yawning, from a dozing dog and a cuddly blanket to endearing baby orangutans who stretch out long arms for a nighttime hug.
Letter Y = Yellow. Celebrates all the colors of the world, especially yellow.
Letter Y = Y.M.C.A. We danced to the song Y.M.C.A. - making each of the letters with our bodies during the song!
Letter Y = Yellow. We scattered 250 ball pit balls around the room and the kids had to find the yellow ones to put back in the tub.
Letter Y = Yoga. We used this book and did some beginning Yoga poses.
Letter Y = Yarn. We did yarn lacing with the letter Y.
Letter X = Box. To an imaginative bunny, a box is not always just a box.
Letter X = Fox. A collection of tongue twisters that is "an amusing exercise for beginning readers."
Letter X = X Marks the Spot. The kids went around the children's department looking for the letter X. Once they found one, they got to keep the surprise that was taped to the back!
Letter X = Xylophone. We played sit dancing with the instruments. The kids could dance to the music but they had to sit down once Mr. Steve hit the xylophone!
Letter X = Xylophone. We made xylophone crafts, with the drumsticks making an 'X'.
Letter W = Walrus. In this wordless picture book, follow Walrus on a happy-go-lucky spree through the big city, as he tries on different hats to disguise himself from the chasing zookeeper.
Letter W = Why. A collection of pictures drawn by different artists. Various award-winning artists present their own version of the classic joke, from Marla Frazee's chicken who is searching for a luxury "coop," to Mo Willems's chicken who confesses his motives to a police officer.
Letter W = Waldo. Five Waldos were hiding around the room and the kids found them!!
Letter W = Worm. We danced (wiggled?) to the song Earth Worm Disco.
Letter W = Walrus. We made these fun walruses!
