MY STYLE:~Books I've read and recommend without reservation...

I am, I confess, a bona fide Bibliophile... Every room in my house is filled with these treasures. I love to be taken to exotic locations, drawn in to family dramas, reduced to tears by the hardships of some and laughed till I pee myself at others. I love the smell of musty old books, well-worn and dusty and imbued with the spirit of all those who read before me.... I confess to even loving a bit of fluff and fancy, curling up with a really trashy love story. I am an addict of the highest order!

Loved the show as a kid!

I've read most of these banned books! What a rebel. It expanded my mind, too!

...and worth your time.

Chocolat ~ Joanne Harris ....a wonderful, transporting read.

The Grapes of Wrath won John Steinbeck the Pulitzer and contrubuted greatly to his winning of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962. The discriptive detail is stunning. The story of dust bowl migrants is grippingly emotional. Henry Fonda played Tom Joad in the 1940 Hollywood rendition.

The Secret Life of Bees (2008)

Read this long ago but highly recommend it to you!

A great book that I read years ago and got lost in. Shocking and raw look at one young girl's dysfunctional life.

Both the book and the TV mini-series were awesome.

EVERGREEN by Belva Plain- Love this author!

A favorite saga.

Fried green tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe / Fannie Flagg. This is such a great story, and Fannie tells it with humor and pathos. And Welcometo the world, Baby girl! Loved it.
