In March,1988, Audrey began her work as an International Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF by visiting the poorest country in the world--Ethiopia. In September 1992, four months before she died, Hepburn went to Somalia (this photo). Hepburn called it "apocalyptic" and said, "I walked into a nightmare.
"As the years go on, you see changes in yourself, but you’ve got to face that - everyone goes through it… Either you have to face up to it and tell yourself you’re not going to be eighteen all your life, or be prepared for a terrible shock when you see the wrinkles and white hair.
