This is the first time I decided to prepare khichiya papad/papadum (rice flour fryums or crisps) by myself at home here in Canada. I made 3 batches in 2 days. It is extremely hot here so perfect time to try it. I found it very easy to prepare. I have put together step by step instruction with tips to help the fist timer.

Batata Vada Appe - Leftover ka makeover
What's in the name? LOL, ask me about it. I was so confuse, what to name this dish. It's a blend of batata (potato) vada with outer layer of dosa batter. I make the very tasty vada pav, and I also prepare delicious dosa. So when I had some leftover dosa batter, I decided to mix both my favourite dishes in one.
Red Chutney Premix for Mysore Masala
To make my life easy during busy schedule, I prepared this premix powder which I can add little water and make paste and use it for Mysore masala. This premix can be prepared in 5-7 mins.

Breakfast Oatmeal Premix
“Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.” is an old saying in many countries. Most of the nutritionist suggest a bowl of oatmeal in the morning. During the week, I don't have much time as I leave early for work so I started preparing this premix for oatmeal. I also took this in my recent trip. Because of COVID, many hotels did not serve the breakfast, this was the easiest healthy breakfast I was able to make in 2 mins using microwave in the room.
Sabudana Kheer/ (Tapioca/Sago Pudding) (Ekadashi special)
Sharing this wonderful, easy sweet/dessert recipe which can also be eaten during Hindu fasting. We also call it sabudana ni kanji. It is a healthy sweet which is loved by young and old. We do prepare this for young kids too. It is very easy recipe which can be prepared in less than 30 minutes.
Oats Churma Ladoo
I have a very fond memory of my dad preparing churma ladoo. He is almost 90 and this recipe is as old as since he started making it in his young days. He never let my mom make this sweet by herself 😃 I have used his recipe but instead of ladoo or wheat flour I used oats as I am gluten intolerant and able to eat oats.
Lobiya Pakoda Cooked in Dahi Sauce
This recipe is inspired by Ranveer Brar's pani wale pakode. Since these pakoda are cooked in water, I have only used 1 tbsp oil to prepare the whole dish. Also, I am using beans, it makes this dish rich in protein. This dish is very similar to a dish called rasawala (rasiya) gota in Gujarati where we prepare gota (pakoda) with leftover rice and besan.
Farali (Upvas) Bhel
This is a very easy to prepare farali bhel. You need few ingredients and voilà ... you have this yummy upvas recipe ready. You can eat this for afternoon snack too. A must try!!
Lobia (Black Eyed Bean) Idli
Another successful experiment using lobia (chawalie/black eyed bean/ black eye pea/goat pea). Not using any baking soda or fruit salt. You may have seen my previous post dahi lobia pakoda which was big hit in my family. I haven't see chawali idli recipe (maybe there is). These Idlis came out spongy with lots of bubbles. They were moist.
