My Soul Waits
For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; my fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged. —Psalm 62:5–6 AMP Herons are the poster children for quietly waiting in silence. They stand motionless for the longest time, assessing their habitat, alertly waiting and searching for sustenance. At the same time, they trust and hope that they will be fed. 12”x16” acrylics on 7/8” birch cradle board.
a painting of pink flowers and a blue bird
This little bluebird resting securely amid colorful spring flowers has his priorities in order. Trust in the Lord. Breathe deeply of His unconditional love. Thank Him and praise Him with your heart and with your song. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. —Psalm 91:1 AMP Acrylic impressionistic style with stunning pink, purples, and blues. #bluebird #roses #impressionistic #trust #rest

True Friends
I have been blessed to have several true friends who know the song of my heart and who sing it back to me when my memory fails. This original mixed media painting is my tribute to them. Of course, I always think in terms of birds, those charming creatures of the Master Creator’s hand to portray my thoughts. This painting is 12”x12” on 1 1/2” thick birch cradle board. God’s Jewels—Peacock This original mixed media painting is the companion to the Hoopoe painting. Peacocks are such amazing creatures, aren’t they? Rich colors accented with gold delight the eyes and bring joy in God’s creations.

God’s Jewels—Hoopeo This original mixed media painting shows the variety and richness of creation, which never ceases to amaze me! The Hoopoe bird’s crown of feathers design sets it apart and makes me chuckle. It has been appointed the national bird of Israel. The rich jewel tones of the painting are set off by metallic gold accents.

Southern Peace Magnolias are the consummate symbol of sweet Southern summers. Their blooms not only delight the eye with their ethereal beauty, but their smell is nothing short of heavenly, and this little hummingbird is taking full advantage with a peaceful break on a hot, summer’s day.

The You Are Enough original mixed media bird art was created as a reminder that God knows what He is doing when He created each of us. Even though we might feel inferior and hurt, we are fearfully and wonderfully made, WE ARE ENOUGH. His works are wonderful! Just look at the amazing variety of birds He created for our pleasure. This Be Still mixed media painting is a remembrance of our time in Michigan when we lived at the edge of a small lake covered with lilies. I so enjoyed watching the herons on the water’s edge. There’s no better example of stillness in creation than the heron. Have you ever watched them? Copyright 2018 by Robin Black, InspirioStudio LLC
