Tootling- the opposite of tattling. Tootling is when students write a positive note about their classmates or teacher and stick it up on our tootling board. They love doing it, and it helps promote a cohesive classroom community!
Make in powerpoint using Wordart. The font is grobold. Put one per page and blow them up to take up the whole page. Use the wordart that is outline only so it will be blank in the middle. Once you have the name typed and on the page, you can format (or it might say edit) the wordart....that's where you can make the outline thicker.
If you're going to have a substitute and you love Post-its, this idea is for you!! I left instructions for my sub to give sticky notes to students for doing things I would be proud of. They wrote their name and "proud moment" on their note...such a nice welcome back from being out when you see all those sticky notes!!
Creating a Culture of Kindness in Your Classroom. The best way to promote kindness and caring behaviors in our classrooms is to model them. When we show our students what it LOOKS like and SOUNDS like to be kind, there is a far greater chance they will repeat those modeled behaviors. It is so important to remember that children watch their teachers all the time and listen to everything they say (especially when it’s not in a lecture).
