There is a lot to love about these muffins. You like fruits? We got em. You like nuts? Check. How about trendy hipster bits like cashew yogurt and chia seeds? You betcha. Oh, and you were hoping for a little spice? We got you covered.
Roasted Garlic Asiago Cheese Bread
Bread is magic. Garlic is magic. Put them together and you have super powers. Add cheese and you are invincible as well. I don’t dabble in hyperbole. This is serious stuff.
Dark Cherry Chia Boule
Happy International Women's Day! You should probably sneak into the kitchen and make this awesome bread with dark cherries and chia seeds for the amazing woman of your choice. Seriously. Doesn't even need to be someone you know. Just bake and deliver - no words necessary. Bread pretty much says, "You are awesome" all by itself.
Pita bread is a staple of the Middle East. It goes by different names in various countries - Peda, Pide, Pitta, Ramadan Bread. It is flat bread that puffs up when baked on the bottom of a hot oven*. The hollow inside is perfect to fill with stir-fried or grilled foods. You can also use pita to shovel food from the plate to your mouth!
Fruity Potpourri Bread
The wonderful smell of potpourri in a bread... cran-raspberry juice, apple, orange peel, coriander, ginger. Not a sweet bread like cinnamon rolls, but sweet like a kiss on the cheek.
Birnenbrot-style Apple Raisin Rum Bread
Birnenbrot means 'pear bread' - and I didn't have any pears. So, I used apples. Which means it isn't pear bread, it's apple bread. Instead of calling it Apfelbrot, I have erred on the side of listing several ingredients.
This showy nut bread comes from Bavaria in Southern Germany. The subtle spices compliment the ground nuts. This bread is good at room temperature, but warming it brings out the flavors even more. By the way, Nussstolen really does have three "S's"!
Chipotle Cheddar Sourdough Bread
The taste of sourdough, cheddar, and chipotle are well-balanced in this bread - with a light but insistent heat in the back of the throat from the pepper. I went pioneer-style with this one... used bacon grease for the fat.
