you can always trust Melissa Clark. made them into a bunch of even smaller buns, cooked for ~20 minutes and they were just browned with a crackling crust, yet a soft interior, not to mention dead easy. changed the currants to dried blueberries (!) and omitted the caraway because I could not be bothered. a decadent upgrade to the traditional plain irish soda bread!
