Congratulations to Michael Phelps for breaking the record of most Olympic medals won by an athlete. He tied the record after winning a silver medal in the 200 butterfly early today, and beat the record after USA took home gold in the men’s 4x200 free relay. The other USA swimmers to help him accomplish this was Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer, and Ricky Berens. The record was originally held by Russian gymnasts, Larysa Latinina, with 18 medals won in the 1950’s and 60’s.
