I recently finished a children's book illustration project for an awesome author (and person), Lissa Webber. Next to working on my own project ideas, illustrating children's books is my favorite job.

So I once again braved the hallways of elementary school. My mission: to inspire! Mission Completed? Failed? Impossible? The jury is still out, but I had a blast and I hope some kiddos did too!

If you don't live in Charleston, you may not know it, but the Spoleto and the Piccolo Spoleto festivals are a pretty big deal. The Spoleto is an international festival and always gets a lot of hype, but it's sister festival, Piccolo Spoleto, has always been my favorite.

Ok, so obviously people have been all a buzz about the upcoming royal wedding for months now. I started reading about it in an effort to figure out why people cared so much. I mean, why? Somehow in trying to prove people were silly for caring, I started to care. Darn you, Prince Harry, and your undeniable charm!

First off, let me say that human kids are great. I know some awesome ones that I love to be around. As for me and my home though...we love the fur babies. This blog entry is dedicated to those fur baby moms out there on this upcoming Mother's Day!

My Double Date with David Bowie and Jim Henson - It may have been over 30 years late but I FINALLY was able to see Labyrinth on the big screen. This was a favorite movie and soundtrack of my childhood. This movie merges two loves of mine, the overall awesomeness of David Bowie and the creative genius of Jim Henson.

As a kid, I never knew you could do what I do as an actual job. I would have loved nothing better than for some crazy chick who likes to draw unicorns or a flying octopus to come to my school and tell me this was possible. The more I share my work with children though, I wonder, who is inspiring whom?

I know it has been a minute, but I finally released a few new illustrations into the wilds of my shop. I have been super busy with book illustrations for myself and for other independent authors, but new members of my current collections just burst out of me like new babies...but a lot less messy than real babies.
