Place objects inside a story bag and have students draw one piece at a time and tell a story. You can also have them write out the story or retell a story you make by placing the pieces in chronological order.

Area math game: Roll the dice and draw the area array on your own grid - first to fill it wins. Or 2 players choose a different coloured pen each, use one grid and the player who cannot complete the last array is the loser.

"My Summer Bucket List" is a fun topic for students to write about at the end of the school year. I like how this teacher has had her students write inside bucket templates and their names are on shovels. This is a great idea for a last bulletin board display of the school year and before summer vacation.
