Toddlers will love the idea of shape hopping, care giver would call out the shape and color and the child's job is to find the shape and matching color. Great for large motor development and body and eye coordinations.

Counting Game with Buttons and Muffin Cups! This games teaches counting and number recognition. Great for Pre-K students and the buttons can be used over and over again. Items for activity are really inexpensive, which is always a bonus.

Sort by shape. Take an old shoe box, cover with paper, cut holes of shapes slightly larger. I inserted dividers inside the box so I could check work easily. The shapes were purchased at the dollar spot in Target.

#Motivation This is a great way to create community the first week of school and to create some meaningful art to put on display! Similar to a heart map, this is a name map. Students can create their own, and then compare with their tablemates. Another idea would be to scan in each table together, and on a SmartBoard (if you have one), draw connections between students and similar likes/traits.
