**Classroom Management 2- I have always loved the idea of exit tickets, but this seems like an interesting way to have students self-evaluate their progress at the same time. Also (bonus), I can gauge confidence levels really quickly.
Clever way to have students self-assess their understanding as they exit the classroom. -- Exit Slip
Class Organize: Exit Slip, Exit Ticket, Ticket out the Door. This simple system, which has students self-evaluate after a lesson by placing a slip in one of four catagories indicating their level of undertanding, could be especially useful for tracking ELLs' comprehension, particularly for those ELLs who are reluctant to speak up or approach the teacher when they are confused.
IDEA - Exit Ticket - Formative Assessment - Interesting way to have students self evaluate themselves with exit tickets
A way to have students self evaluate themselves with exit tickets and turn in their work. Teaches students to self asses and lets teacher know who needs help. Supports INTASC Standard #6 Assessment: The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making.

That’s why, as unschoolers, we found developing creativity to be more important than learning the times tables. Calculators can do that. But inventing or creatively problem-solving? That can only come if your creativity has been nurtured.

The sections we had to read, it was really useful to see all of the different ways you could incorporate art into a science lesson. I found this website that includes ideas on how to integrate art into subject areas. I thought the one that deals with science was interesting because it is about the color spectrum and how it can be seen through a prism. I like this because the prism is a different take on science for kids and the color is important to interest kids into art projects.

Allowing students to be creative in their learning process and giving them the opportunity to express themselves while continuing to learn the needed material is essential. Creativity, much like what the quote states, isn't an option in learning; it's required. When students have more freedom in how they can learn, often times the better they will be able to learn.
