Pinterests I've Actually Tried

Find on Pinterest, execute, and report! I've tried each of these things--ask me about them if you're thinking of trying them out yourself!

Pinterest I've actually tried: "Samoa Cookie Copycat Bare"....Verdict: Meh. They weren't inedible, but they weren't great either. Would be better with a cookie crust and different chocolate I think.

Pinterests I've actually tried: "Homemade Italian Beef Stew". Verdict....DE. LIC. IOUS. Six thumbs up (from three people) on this recipe. I didn't add mushrooms, but otherwise stuck to the recipe. Keep an eye on the meat and potatoes towards the end though, because it was all done about an hour earlier than the recipe said it would be. Highly recommend!

Pinterests I've actually tried: "Dulce de Leche Cookie Bars". Verdict...Holy-crap-good! Tested them out on family and will be bringing the rest of the pan into work tomorrow to share as Valentine's Day treats. Would probably be even better with some chocolate chips baked in.

Pinterests I've actually tried: "Honey balsamic chicken tenders". Verdict...I thought they smelled terrible while cooking, and considering that, they tasted better than I expected them to--BUT I still wasn't a fan. My mother enjoyed them and took leftovers home.

Pinterests I've actually tried: Lemon garlic baked asparagus. Verdict...So-so. It was decent enough to eat, but I will continue my recipe search for high-end steakhouse quality asparagus.

Pinterests I've actually tried: "Apples with melted PB and chocolate chips". Verdict....Delicious for sure, but don't let the fact that it has apples fool you--this is anything but a healthy snack!

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."German Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars". Verdict: I was really, really excited about these ones because they looked so yummy. But they were only OK. I probably wouldn't make them again. I didn't like the chocolate in it. (Never thought I'd utter those words.)

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Turtle Thumbprint Cookies". Verdict: The most tedious cookie in the world to make, but very good. We made these for Christmas this year and the family really liked them. The caramel especially was AMAZING.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Cinnamon Roll Cake". Verdict: Amazing. My mom has made this a couple times now and it is one of the most heavenly treats I've ever had! Makes for a great "special breakfast" during holidays or special occasions.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Baked General Tso's Chicken". Verdict: Delicious! Made this with my mother one night and we both loved it. The recipe calls for quite a bit of sugar, and while it was delicious, we'll probably try it out with half the sugar next time around.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Nail polish painted keys". Verdict: Very cute, and a great way to help find the right key when you have several that look alike. I painted a few of my keys almost two years ago now, and they're still sparkling away.

Pinterests I've actually tried: "Black-Bottom Peanut Butter Mousse Pie". Verdict...Delicious! And easy. But beware--very, very, very sweet. Serve in small slices.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Reeses Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats". Verdict: SO, SO, SO GOOD! My mom was the one who actually tried this one, and it was delicious. She used regular Rice Krispies though, and just 1 bag of marshmallows, and then refrigerated them. Unreal. (And so, so bad for you :) )

Pinterests I've actually tried: "Gluten-free, Butterless, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies". Verdict: Unbelievably good. Who knew cookies didn't need butter or flour or white sugar? They fell apart easily but that probably wouldn't have happened if I had refrigerated them longer or cooked them longer. Added a squeeze of honey too. Perfection. Everyone loved them!

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Birthday Cake Pancakes". Verdict: Tasted fine, but not as special as I thought they might be. HOWEVER! The birthday girl thought they were the coolest thing ever :) So A+ for a fun birthday breakfast treat. I'd recommend finding a different recipe for the 'syrup' though. The one in this recipe was no good. Perhaps would have been better with some vanilla added to it.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Balsamic Roast Beef in the crock pot". Verdict: I have only two words for you...unbelievably good. I don't like pork so I use a chuck roast instead. Put it on a kaiser roll and you're good to go.

Pinterests I've actually tried...No nail polish remover? No problem! Verdict: This particular Pin only leads to a GoogleImage search of clear nail polish. BUT I had to do it that way because I couldn't find a good webpage with this brilliant solution: If you run out of polish remover halfway through the job, put a coat of clear nail polish on your nail and IMMEDIATELY wipe it off. Works like a CHARM! Just did this last night (1/28/13). Such a life saver when you have red-stained hands + nails :)

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Italian Herb Skillet Bread". Verdict: Made these last night (1/24) and they were SO good! Even without any of the seasoning, I think I'll cook the Rhodes buns in a skillet all the time now. The spices were delicious though. The only thing I'd change is the amount of spices the recipe calls for. It's all proportioned perfectly, but simply too much. I had leftover spice. Overall though: A+!

Pinterests I've actually tried...."Christmas Crack". Verdict: Terrible, I don't recommend it. It was way too sweet, and got impacted in your teeth like nobody's business. We all took a couple bites, then threw it all out.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried...Verdict: It takes less than 15 mins because it doesn't work. Your hair looks exactly as it would if you slept in wet braids--like a crimpy-haired 5-year-old. Original Pinned Text: Now, can you believe it takes less than 15 minutes to create this style? No? Well, here’s exactly how to do it: Section hair into 5-10 big sections than braid each in a loose braid. Run a flatiron over each braid, let them cool down, spray hairspray and undo the braids. See? I told you!

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Peanut Butter Corn Flake Balls". Verdict: Absolutely delicious and addicting, but tastes exactly like scotcharoos/Special K bars

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Brown Sugar Oatmeal Coconut Chewies". Verdict: Just made these today (10/27/12). I would make them again because they truly are good, but I wouldn't bring them to a social function and brag about them.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Ginger and Cilantro Baked Tilapia". Verdict: This is still, by far, hands down, THE BEST thing I have found on Pinterest. Period. It's mind blowing in its flavorfulness! (Ginger, cilantro, jalapeno, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, oh my!) I have it at least once a week. And it never fails with dinner guests. TRY IT! Don't be afraid of what the mixture looks like. And squeeze some lemon juice on it! Enjoy.

Pinterests I've Actually Tried...Verdict: Valentine's Day cards :) Turned out very cute and got a smile out of people. (NOTE: I created this card prior to realizing it was from Etsy. I would never knowingly steal an Etsy-ers craft! Purchase from Etsy when you can, it's a great site.)

Pinterests I've Actually Tried...Verdict: Supposed to be a homemade-version of Olive Garden breadsticks--not at all the same though. However! Did you know that you can buy frozen OG breadsticks at OG? True story.
