Pinterests I've actually tried: photo wood transfer. Verdict... I will be doing these for the rest of my life! So easy and beautiful, and with a special touch it makes a great gift! I took this picture this Fall of my boyfriend and his daughter. He's a full-time daddy superhero. I used the @photojojo tutorial, and she details the steps perfectly! #gifts #christmas #christmasgifts #giftsfordad #woodtransfer
Pinterests I've Actually Tried: Spinach & Ricotta Stuffed Shells. Verdict...DE.LICIOUS! Will definitely be making again. The shells were delicious on their own, but my boyfriend and I enjoyed scooping the insides up with some garlic bread. Highly recommend!
Pinterests I've actually tried: Chicken Alfredo Baked Ziti. Verdict....Fantastic! A winner with me, ze boyfriend, and his daughter. A new weekly go-to for sure. Rich, creamy, great flavor. We paired it with garlic bread--perfection!
Pinterests I've actually tried: Crispy Coconut Chicken. Verdict...Not a winner. It did get crispy, and it did have a coconut flavor. But the coconut flavor on *chicken* was not good. Even if that's your thing, I would suggest frying it in something other than vegetable oil. Not sure what else you would use, but I don't like the flavor the vegetable oil left on the chicken.
Pinterests I've actually tried: "Salted Caramel Chocolate Pillows" Verdict...Not good. In theory, and in photo, they sound and look wonderful. But not so much. Nobody who tried them was crazy about them and it took my baking credibility down a notch.
Pinterests I've actually tried: "A Cup of Coffee Cake (in Under Five Minutes)" verdict...Honestly, not too bad! Way better than I was expecting. Not as light and fluffy as I'd want it to be, and the "batter" itself could use a little brown sugar or cinnamon. But it was good!
Pinterest I've actually tried: "Monster Cookie Dough Cupcakes". Verdict....DE.LISH. huge hit at the office. These are TERRIBLY unhealthy for you and could cause a heart attack on the first bite, but man alive were they good. The recipe makes a LOT of frosting, but with how you pile it on top of the cupcakes, you'll use up most of it. We used the leftover for grahamcracker dip :)
Pinterests I've actually tried: "Homemade Italian Beef Stew". Verdict....DE. LIC. IOUS. Six thumbs up (from three people) on this recipe. I didn't add mushrooms, but otherwise stuck to the recipe. Keep an eye on the meat and potatoes towards the end though, because it was all done about an hour earlier than the recipe said it would be. Highly recommend!
Pinterests I've actually tried: "Dulce de Leche Cookie Bars". Verdict...Holy-crap-good! Tested them out on family and will be bringing the rest of the pan into work tomorrow to share as Valentine's Day treats. Would probably be even better with some chocolate chips baked in.
Pinterests I've actually tried: "Honey balsamic chicken tenders". Verdict...I thought they smelled terrible while cooking, and considering that, they tasted better than I expected them to--BUT I still wasn't a fan. My mother enjoyed them and took leftovers home.
Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."German Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars". Verdict: I was really, really excited about these ones because they looked so yummy. But they were only OK. I probably wouldn't make them again. I didn't like the chocolate in it. (Never thought I'd utter those words.)
Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Turtle Thumbprint Cookies". Verdict: The most tedious cookie in the world to make, but very good. We made these for Christmas this year and the family really liked them. The caramel especially was AMAZING.
Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Cinnamon Roll Cake". Verdict: Amazing. My mom has made this a couple times now and it is one of the most heavenly treats I've ever had! Makes for a great "special breakfast" during holidays or special occasions.
Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Baked General Tso's Chicken". Verdict: Delicious! Made this with my mother one night and we both loved it. The recipe calls for quite a bit of sugar, and while it was delicious, we'll probably try it out with half the sugar next time around.
Pinterests I've Actually Tried..."Nail polish painted keys". Verdict: Very cute, and a great way to help find the right key when you have several that look alike. I painted a few of my keys almost two years ago now, and they're still sparkling away.
