Did you know that the Bible on its own did not create those little titles? Nor is it broken down into clean sections. One of the benefits of writing is learning how to read in such a way that I care not only about the story, because let’s be honest, that’s usually how I read in the past, but also to know the intent of the author.

Corrie ten Boom, a Dutch evangelical, was arrested and sent to Ravensbruck concentration camp in 1944 for hiding Jews. After the war, she encountered one of the cruelest former camp guards. She said of that moment, "For a long moment we grasped each other's hands, the former guard and the former prisoner. I had never known God's love so intensely as I did then."
