Thailand beaches, are you kidding me right now? Beautiful.
Bucket List - Thailand
come as no surprise that the best beaches in Thailand also rank as some of the best beaches in the world. For this reason, Thailand holds the number one spot for having some of the best beaches in Asia. Beautiful sandy white beaches dot almost every coastline on the islands of Thailand. With so many to choose from, picking the perfect beach for an island vacation might be more difficult than you think. Phi Phi Don was initially populated by Muslim fishermen during the late 1940s, and later became a coconut plantation. The Thai population of Phi Phi Don remains more than 80% Muslim. Koh Phi Phi Leh was the backdrop for the 2000 movie The Beach. Phi Phi Leh also houses the 'Viking Cave', from which there is a thriving bird's nest soup industry. There was criticism during filming of 'The Beach' that the permission granted to the film company to physically alter the environment inside Phi Phi Islands National Park was illegal. Following the release of The Beach, tourism on Phi Phi Don increased dramatically, and with it the population of the island. Many buildings were constructed without planning permission. thailand beaches thailand beaches thailand beaches thailand beaches Koh Chang is the second largest island of Thailand, located on the Thai east coast 310 km away from Bangkok near the border to Cambodia in the Gulf of Thailand. The name means Elephant Island. It is a mountainous island with several waterfalls and rainforest. The island is part of the Mu Ko Chang Marine National Park. During World War II, Ko Chang was the scene of a naval battle between the Royal Thai Navy and a Vichy France squadron, in which the Thais were decisively beaten. thailand beaches
Beautiful Thailand BangkokProwl a Sacred LabyrinthMost travelers launch their Thailand odysseys from the country's pulsating capital, a convenient middle ground between the mountainous north and island-pocked south. With direct flights from New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport on Thai Airways, it's now an endurable 17 hours to Bangkok. Drop your bags at the Atlanta, a meticulously kept art deco hotel on the east side of town, then make your way down to the Chao Phraya River for an early evening ferry glide past Thon Buri. At night the ancient city's skyline glows with brightly lit sites such as Wat Arun, the stunning Temple of the Dawn. By day, one of the best ways to explore Bangkok's temple-ridden labyrinth of high-rises and twisting side streets is to hire a tuk-tuk, or local pedicab. (Be sure to bargain the price ahead of time; maximum $65 for half a day.) Itinerary musts: Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), with the adjoining Grand Palace; and the intricate, teakwood Jim Thompson House, where an American intelligence officer turned expat once lived before he mysteriously disappeared in 1967. If you'd prefer a day outside the city limits, hop a bus to the renowned Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) southwest of Bangkok. Here merchants poling gondola-like canoes peddle fruits, vegetables, and souvenirs from boats and stalls along a series of khlongs (canals). Beautiful Beaches... Phuket is one of Thailand’s most famous provinces, an island in the south with warm and humid climate throughout the year. Phuket has two main season. The rainy starts from May to November and the hot continue from December to April.Majority of the residents are Thai-Chinese while the rest are Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus, Christians and the Chao Le (Sea Gypsies). The major religion is Buddhism and the other is Islam. Languages spoken here are both southern dialect and central Thai. Phuket is the only provincial island of Thailand and the largest island of the country, lying in the sparkling green Andaman seas surrounded by many beautiful islets. This island is world class, listed as one of the outstanding holiday destinations for its seaside scenic view, fine beaches, green seawater and vibrant coral reefs. Given all its qualities, there is no hesitation or any doubt that this paradise island is regarded as “The Pearl of Andaman”. Millions of visitors flow to this island every year just for one reason, to ecstatically scrutinize this pearl. I'm reclining on the soft white sands of horseshoe-shaped Rai Le beach, in Krabi Province, enjoying a bowlful of fresh grilled squid while climbers tackle 500-foot (152-meter) limestone crags off to my left and long-tail boats swish ashore. My guide for the day, a soft-spoken woman from Phuket, is telling me about the December 2004 cataclysm that devastated a huge swath of Thailand's west coast.

Neuschwanstein Castle - inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty Castle for Disneyland, apparently.
The most famous of Germany's castles, and one of the three commissioned by King Ludwig II, overlooks the gorgeous Hohenschwangau valley. If the architecture looks familiar, it's because Walt Disney used the castle as inspiration when designing the Sleeping Beauty Castle for Disneyland. Hundreds of artisans from around the globe took sixteen years to build but a third of the planned castle, and it was never finished. However, its sweeping turrets and alabaster walls make Neuschwanstein beautiful
