Classic American Beauty
A nickle went a long way back in the day. In a time when there were half pennies in our monetary system, and nickles, as well as half dimes, which were worth five cents but were physically half the size and the value of a dime, and 5 cent nickles like this one as well as three cent nickles, two cent pieces, twenty cent quarters and quarter quarters, oh boy! like i said money went a heck of a lot further back in the day, whatever that means.

The reverse of the Lincoln Cent has a party
The Lincoln birth bicentennial, and the centennial of the introduction of the Lincoln cent was honored with one of the only coin runs which included an image of the same individual on the reverse and obverse of the coin. 4 reverse varieties showing Lincoln in four stages of his life can be found on thew common 2009 minted penny.

Before the Indian Head
The fires US Minted penny in the dimensions of the current Lincoln Cent was not the Indian head penny it was a short run Flying Eagle cent which was the same size as the Indian head and weighed the same as the early Indian head but for some reason it was swapped out for the Indian head which ran until 1909 when the Lincoln penny which is almost identical as the current penny's obverse (front)

Flying Eagle Penny
Prior to the Indian Head penny, the Flying Eagle's short run of around 3 years was the first US small cent. The size of our current penny, much thicker and much heavier than the current zinc cent.

DDR Double Die Reverse
The reverse side of this Roosevelt dime was minted with a visible error, as the die struck the planchette twice missing the first impression slightly maligning the word DIME

RPM Washington Quarter
The Denver Mint Mark on this Washington Quarter, located on the reverse of the quarter til 1965. This mint mark was repunched incorrectly, as you can se the letter D on the letter D slightly offset to the north

Barber Half Dollar
Pre WW1 Pre Walking Liberty the Barber Coins adorned the obverse of many US coins the largest denomination being the half dollar. Silver dollars were Morgan Dollars.
