Tamara Geva (1907 - 1997) was a Russian actress, ballet dancer and choreographer. She was the first wife of dancer/choreographer George Balanchine and defected Soviet Russia in 1924 with Balanchine and Alexandra Danilova. Toured with Russes Ballets and performed with the American Ballet. She had a successful career in theater with some celebrated Broadway runs in drama and muscials, including those by Rodgers & Hart, George Bernard Shaw, and Jean Paul Sarte.
