The first Last Supper
James Of Arci, God Will, The Lord, Mel Gibson, God Is, Jesus Christ, Jesus Pictures, King James, The Breads
Your troubles will be bread for you. Before going into the land of promise the children of Israel heard the report of Giants (big troubles) in the land. Looking at the troubles as insurmountable obstacles was likened to “rebelling” against God. Instead of being obstacles they were put in the context of being food for the children of Israel. Numbers 14:9 King James Bible Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not. Your troubles will become bread for you The point is that the troubles we faced in life should be viewed as our food. They will become spiritual nourishment for us. Your troubles have no defense against God. In overcoming our troubles through trusting Christ we will be doing the will of God. It is our trusting God to overcome them that does it. Its not our power or ability. 2 Corinthians 12:9 New Living Translation (©2007) Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. Doing this “will of God” will become our dinner table. Our food. Psalm 23:5 King James Bible Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Here it links the table to partaking in the anointing of Christ. Jesus said this about doing the will of God John 4:34 King James Bible Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. john 4:32 King James Bible But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. We will be doing the will of God in this way. Doing the will of God is our food. NOM NOM NOM

The last night. A night like this, Jesus prayed on the Mount of Olives, was betrayed and arrested, abandoned and denied by his friends. And what are we doing tonight?: Then, accompanied by the disciples, Jesus left the upstairs room and went as usual to the Mount of Olives. There he told them, “Pray that you will not give in to temptation.” He walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. At last he stood up again and returned to the disciples, only to find them asleep, exhausted from grief. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.” But even as Jesus said this, a crowd approached, led by Judas, one of the twelve disciples. Judas walked over to Jesus to greet him with a kiss. But Jesus said, “Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” When the other disciples saw what was about to happen, they exclaimed, “Lord, should we fight? We brought the swords!” And one of them struck at the high priest’s slave, slashing off his right ear. But Jesus said, “No more of this.” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him. Then Jesus spoke to the leading priests, the captains of the Temple guard, and the elders who had come for him. “Am I some dangerous revolutionary,” he asked, “that you come with swords and clubs to arrest me? Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there every day. But this is your moment, the time when the power of darkness reigns.” So they arrested him and led him to the high priest’s home. And Peter followed at a distance. The guards lit a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat around it, and Peter joined them there. A servant girl noticed him in the firelight and began staring at him. Finally she said, “This man was one of Jesus’ followers!” But Peter denied it. “Woman,” he said, “I don’t even know him!” After a while someone else looked at him and said, “You must be one of them!” “No, man, I’m not!” Peter retorted. About an hour later someone else insisted, “This must be one of them, because he is a Galilean, too.” But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. At that moment the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Suddenly, the Lord’s words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And Peter left the courtyard, weeping bitterly. The guards in charge of Jesus began mocking and beating him. They blindfolded him and said, “Prophesy to us! Who hit you that time?” And they hurled all sorts of terrible insults at him. (Col 1:24) - "Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, of which I became a minister according to the divine office which was given to me for you, to make the work of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now made manifest to his saints."

Frame texture is 3D, but HEXO instead of TONDO for us! Michelango's ONLY panel painting! The Doni Tondo or Doni Madonna, sometimes called The Holy Family, is the only finished panel painting by the mature Michelangelo to survive. Now in the Uffizi in Florence, Italy, and still in its original frame, the painting was probably commissioned by Agnolo Doni to commemorate his marriage to Maddalena Strozzi.
Tondo Doni or Holy Family -- 1506-08 -- Michelangelo Buonarroti, Italian -- Oil and tempera on panel -- Uffizi Gallery, Florence -- ***Note: The only known painting to survive from Michelangelo's maturity.
Holy Family or Doni Tondo by Michelangelo Buonarroti .. 1506-1508) is the only painting by Michelangelo in Florence and is considered one of the masterpieces of the XVI century Italian art....

Michelangelo's Pieta ~ sculpture
☫ Angelic ☫ winged cemetery angels and zen statuary - Michelangelo- Pieta Closeup
The Pietà (1498–1499) masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture Michelangelo Buonarroti, housed in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. In Rome the sculpture, in Carrara marble, was made for the cardinal's funeral monument, but was moved to its current location, the first chapel on the right as one enters the basilica, in the 18th century. It is the only piece Michelangelo ever signed. (I have drawn this several times and still can not accomplish what he has carved in stone). Beautiful.
Another explanation of Mary's youth suggests that Michelangelo's treatment of the subject was influenced by Dante's Divina Commedia. In Paradiso (cantica 33), Saint Bernard, in a prayer for the Virgin Mary, says "Virgin mother, daughter of your son". Since Christ is one of the three figures of Trinity, Mary would be his daughter, but it is also she who bore him.

Michelangelos pieta- such an amazing sculpture, need to see it in real life
"Pietà" (1499) Michelangelo. Saint Peter's Basilica, Vatican City, Rome, Italy. It is the 1st of a number of works of the same theme by the artist. The statue was commissioned for the French cardinal Jean de Billheres. The sculpture, in Carrara marble, was made for the cardinal's funeral monument, but was moved to its current location, the first chapel as one enters the basilica. It is the only piece Michelangelo ever signed & balances Renaissance ideals of classical beauty with naturalism.
Michelangelo "The Pieta" Renaissance art. Saw this in person when I was 5. @kimdheadlee
Created by Michelangelo (1475-1564), the Pieta depicts the Virgin Mary holding her only son, Jesus Christ, in her arms. Prior to sculpting the Pieta, Michelangelo was not a very known artist. He was only in his early twenties when he was told, in 1498, to do a life sized sculpture of the Virgin Mary holding her son in her arms. In about two years, from a single slab of marble, Michelangelo created one of the most beautiful sculptures ever. Pieta is housed in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City.
Saint Jerome heavily influenced this saint to become a bride of Christ. Like Saint Therese of Lisieux, Teresa of Avila entered the Carmelite Order. Like Teresa, I often feel great sorrow that I don't love God more... She made a firm amendment to live for Jesus in all that she did. She is a great leader, true lover of Jesus and His Church and the first woman Doctor of the Church. [feast day - Oct 15]
