The button is red with four holes and is placed at an angle sloping downward toward the north side of the sculpture. ButtonArtMuseum.com -Mermaid - This mermaid is outside a realtors office on route 21 in Lady's Island. Beaufort has an active and enthusiastically supported Arts Council. Mermaid statues, embellished by area artists in 2006, were auctioned off to endow a fund for public art. A few mermaids remain sprinkled throughout town. . . Beaufort’s Mermaids were made by sculptor Kevin Palmer.
