This B2B email from Twitter has a great 'postcard' design, making it very quick and easy to read.  They've sent the email in a tweet-like format - something users of the service will be quick to identify - and have included a bulletproof call-to-action with friendly 'Let's get you more followers' text. It's also fully optimised for mobile.  As an American company, they also score bonus targeting points for including an 's' on the end of Maths.

This 'ways to pay' email from Natwest uses a great modular layout, making it easy to scan through their payment methods.  Placing each payment method on its own coloured card, with individual calls-to-action, makes them far easier to impart than adding them to a long paragraph of text.

Nice B2B events email from the Barbican.  Two clear calls-to-action keep things focussed, and a simple, elegant design gives it an attractive and professional look.  The vertical logo also adds a nice touch, and it's responsive. Top marks!

Great transactional email from taxi app Uber.  It has a great little mini-map of the journey, journey stats & comprehensive breakdown of costs.  Nice little extra 'cross-sell' in the footer encouraging users to get £10 credit by referring friends.

This email from hardware retailer B&Q caused a bit of a stir in the email design community last week.  Its stand-out feature is an interactive content slider that allows to tap through the various offers B&Q have. This cool functionality also works on mobile too (next pin).  It also contains a personalised barcode for their loyalty scheme.  The carousel only functions on newer email clients, so it degrades gracefully unsupported clients (Outlook etc...).  Top marks!

A nice example of a win-back email from Netflix. Nice and short, two text-link calls-to-action and one main call-to-action button at the bottom of the email.  It focuses purely on the benefits of the service to sell it - No ads, watch instantly. It'll be interesting to see if this approach changes to include offers or discounts to tempt an ex-customer back if they don't bite straight away.
