Sweet Pickles: Got this recipe from a 90 year old man. He said it was his mother's. -16 cups sliced cucumbers, 2 cups sliced onions, 2 tablespoons salt. Let sit for 3 hours in a bowl or colander. 2 cups of vinegar, 4 cups of sugar, 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon celery seed, 1/2 teaspoon alum. Bring liquid to boil. Pack cucumbers into mason jars. Pour hot liquid over cucumbers. You can go on to can these or keep them in the refrigerator for up to one year.
