The Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering. Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum, its construction started in 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus. Another place on my traceling bucket list.

Favorite place in Barcelona! Located in Barcelona, Spain - Casa Batlló is one of the two great buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi on Passeig de Gracia, the other being La Pedrera From the outside the façade of Casa Batlló looks like it has been made from skulls and bones. The "Skulls" are in fact balconies and the "bones" are supporting pillars.
Antoni Gaudi's Art Nouveau Casa Batllo' 1904-1907 Barcelona Spain This building is so cool looking. Reminds me of mushrooms with stained glass. Alice and Wonderland like
Barcelona, Spain - Gaudi's house of bones Window detail of Caso Batllo building (the Dragon House). The building was designed by Antoni Gaudi and built in 1905–1907. The local name for the building is Casa dels Ossos (house of bones) for its skeletal organic quality. It was originally designed for a middle-class family and situated in a now prosperous district of Barcelona, Spain. Visions Of Space: Antonio Gaudi - Gods Architect Excellent video biography of one of the most enigmatic architects.
Casa Batlló is an amazing building restored by Antoni Gaudí #BarcelonaSpain
Gaudi's work is admired by architects around the World as being one of the most unique and distinctive architectural styles. His work has greatly influenced the face of Barcelona Architecture and you will see Gaudi's work all over the city. Antoni Gaudi was born in Reus in 1852 and received his Architectural degree in 1878. From the very beginning his designs were different from those of his contemporaries. Gaudi's work was greatly influenced by forms of nature and this is reflected by the use of curved construction stones, twisted iron sculptures, and organic-like forms which are traits of Gaudi's Barcelona architecture. Gaudi also adorned many of his buildings with coloured tiles arranged in mosaic patterns. This added another important dimension to his buildings which is so often overlooked by architects - the use of colour. The combination of original design, interesting shaped stonework, and vibrant colours in Gaudi's work give the viewer a truly breathtaking visual experience.
