YES this is a real flower: Hot lips ....Psychotria Elata Affectionately known as Hooker’s lips, Psychotria elata with it’s colorful red flowers attracts many pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds. One of the host plants for the golden silkmoth (Xlophane s adalia). Also known in some circles as Mick Jagger’s lips. Native to Tropical America, this specimen was found at the Butterfly Gardens in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

I want a greenhouse with re-used windows and weathered doors like this with stained glass in them. And I want to take a stained glass class so I can make them myself! It would be my zen place. :-)

Baking soda neutralizes the ph in the soil and nothing will grow there. use baking soda around all of the edges of flower beds to keep the grass and weeds from growing into beds. Just sprinkle it onto the soil so that it covers it lightly. Do this twice a year - spring and fall.
