Reading Centers--pattern block sight words! Get some templates, write words on them, and the kids have to play in pairs--correctly saying each word (and using it in a sentence?) before they can cover it. It can work for letters and numbers, too.

Word Lists for Fluency and Phonics Practice I use these word lists each week to work on fluency and phonics skills with my students. On Monday, I time each student as he& reads the list. I record their time on their paper as well as my class chart.
