My cup of tea!
Bellman and Black: A Ghost Story by Diane Setterfield. Shelved in Senior Fiction under SET. Bellman & Black is a heart-thumpingly perfect ghost story, beautifully and irresistibly written, its ratcheting tension exquisitely calibrated line by line. Its hero is William Bellman, who, as a boy of 11, killed a shiny black rook with a catapult, and who grew up to be someone, his neighbours think, who "could go to the good or the bad."
Bellman & Black by Diane Setterfield ~ A haunting Victorian ghost story of love, loss and the mystery of death from the bestselling author of THE THIRTEENTH TALE.

A FIVE STAR Children's Book: Review of ROOFTOPPERS by Katherine Rundell
Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell. When authorities threaten to take Sophie, twelve, from Charles who has been her guardian since she was one and both survived a shipwreck, the pair goes to Paris to try to find Sophie's mother, and they are aided by Matteo and his band of "rooftoppers."
(Grades 4-6) If your favorite part of Mary Poppins is when everyone dances across the rooftops of London, this book is for you. As a baby, Sophie was found floating in a cello case, and she's had a no less unusual upbringing since then. But now a childcare agency thinks that Sophie doesn't live an unsuitable life for a 19th century girl, so Sophie and her guardian set off for Paris to find her mother, and they discover a whole world of rooftop adventures. The Clockwork Scarab (Stoker & Holmes, #1)
Books, Time Travel, Minas Holmes, Evalin Stoker'S, Clockwork Scarab, Sherlock Holmes, Clockworkscarab, Holmes Novels, Colleen Gleason
The Clockwork Scarab: A Stoker & Holmes Novel by Colleen Gleason. In 1889 London young women are turning up dead, and Evaline Stoker, relative of Bram, and Mina Holmes, niece of Sherlock, are summoned to investigate the clue of the not-so-ancient Egyptian scarabs—but where does a time traveler fit in?
The Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason <-I honestly did like this book. It had really cool steampunk elements along with the NIECE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES!!?! Awesome. It had some things (love triangles, novel to series syndrome, etc) that made it a little bit lacking, especially the ending. But all in all it's a really cool idea that was pretty well executed.
