Willy T. Ribbs, racecar driver who competed in many forms of auto racing. He won 5 races in the SCCA Trans-Am Series and was honored as Pro Rookie of the Year in 1983. In 1986, he became the 1st Black person to drive a Formula One car, when he tested for the Brabham team at the Autódromo do Estoril, Portugal. In 1991, he became the 1st African-American to qualify for the Indianapolis 500. After retiring, he became a sport shooter in the National Sporting Clays Association.
