Tool Room, Atwood House Museum

A variety of tools, trade signs, and other artifacts make up the tool collection. These objects date from early the 1800's thru the early 1900's. As with the other parts of the Collection, nearly all items were donated by individuals with Chatham connections. #atwoodhouse, #chathamhistoricalsociety, #tools, #chatham, #capecod

Handmade pipe from a hollow tree trunk which was used as a part of the Salt Works about 1800. Later this was dug up from the outlet of the Cranberry Bog on Cranberry Lane in North Chatham in 1940. This is one section of the original drain pipes, 250' in length put in when the bog was made in 1890 by Isaiah Nickerson, Edmund S. Kendrick, Jonathan Eldredge. The men burned out the trees to make the pipes. #toolroom, #atwoodhouse, #chathamhistoricalsociety, #chatham, #capecod, #pipe
