Just decided I would upload some work that I did many years ago, when I worked for a Judaica dealer and created entire books of these kind of illuminations painted on real parchment! It was painstaking work but I loved the brilliant color, the gold, the mythical creatures, the beautiful detail... some of these ideas still creep into the fantasy paintings I paint today. All of the work was sold to collectors, but I still have a few remnants at home, like this one....
