Inspired by Jimi Hendrix’s “Bold as Love,” this painting represents a place that is beyond borders, where only feelings exist and where lifting each other up is the only way to get entrance. I was inspired by Hendrix’s lyrics and the way he equates colors to emotion, and as I listened to this song over and over I pictured a place where women could support each other in the truest sense possible, as soul sisters.
A blonde, blue-eyed girl wants you to know that you are handmade by God, formed by the God who made the heavens and mountains and oceans. We are here because of Him, our lives created by Him, and He loves us… and that’s the inspiration behind this painting.
What’s Different About My Art? | Cherie Burbach: "My art is an extension of myself and my faith. It contains words from the Bible and a Christian viewpoint. My art is about the hope that comes from the love of Jesus."
The Ugly Stage: "And just when I’m about to take that particular picture I’m working on and toss it right in the garbage, something happens. A move of my brush uncovers something I like. Another move seems to bring new direction to the picture. And before I know it, I like where it is going."
