Best-selling author Francine Rivers skillfully retells the biblical love story of Gomer and Hosea in a tale set against the exciting backdrop of the California Gold Rush. The heroine, Angel, is a young woman who was sold into prostitution as a child. Michael Hosea is a godly man sent into Angel's life to draw her into the Savior's redeeming love. - Awesome book!
Amazing book. Redeeming Love: Francine Rivers :: A powerful retelling of the story of Gomer and Hosea, Redeeming Love is a life-changing story of God’s unconditional, redemptive, all-consuming love.
Redeeming Love- by Francine Rivers. Definitely a book worth reading. A heart twisting story based off of Hosea written in an enjoyable and understandable way. God is always waiting for us to come back to him.

Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis I read this book in one day. I was also on vacation so I had the time, but still. It was a powerful read. This is a New York Times Bestseller about a girl who left after high school to teach kindergarten for a year in Uganda. Her plans were to go back to the States for college, but life was a little more complicated than she previously thought it would be. At 22, she now is in the process of adopting 13 girls from Uganda. This story challenges Christians to look at how they are living--are those serve in extraordinary ways going the extra mile--or is that what we as Christians have been commanded to do? Without Katie telling us to, her book inspires you to make positive changes in your life. You can read more on her blog and her Amazima nonprofit org website 5/5 Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers Recommended by a friend from church, this book was another fast read. It is a fictional book based off the book of Hosea. It is about a young prostitute and a godly man who felt drawn to help her, and then falls in love with her. Can she learn what love is or is she too scarred and numb to let herself experience a better life? 4.5/5 Start Here by Alex and Brett Harris Written for teens, this book is the follow up to their first novel, Do Hard Things. It is a challenge to young people to not give in to the world's view that teenage years are for rebellion, and that they don't have to wait until they're older to do something with their lives. This book is a roadmap with specifics on how to come up with life changing ideas--whether setting personal goals or fundraising for a good cause. Wish I had these growing up! Great for Christian teens--but also applicable to adults looking for something meaningful to do with their lives. 3.5/5 Click here for my review on their first book: Do Hard Things
