Starry Night Cracker (Hamadryas laodamia), is native to Central and South America and sporadically in the southern United States. The common name, Starry Night, was inspired by the Vincent van Gogh painting.
Pipevine Swallowtail (Battus philenor) is native to Mexico and the continental United States, except northwest of Wyoming. This prolific butterfly actually overwinters in its chrysalis. This photograph is by Sturgis McKeever, Georgia Southern University.
