Philco radios like this one were made to be elegant pieces of furniture. I listened to The Shadow, Johnny Dollar and Amos and Andy on one of these when I was a youngster in the 1950s.

grocery 1940. My great-grandfather had one of these and ran it until he died. I was about 5-6 yes old, so it was around until the early 1970's. It was still a small country grocery store - even down to the antique cash register.
