2012 December 21 Orion over El Castillo

APOD: 2012 December 21 - Orion over El Castillo

InVader t-shirt by Ian Leino

Remember me laughing out loud at your comment about "Maybe once humans start mining asteroids in space, they'll also have learned to share with each other?"

Chocolate Meteorites! Each of these candies is made to look like a specific meteorite, such as the Henbury, the Orgueil or the Pallsovka. They even have one called the Tatahouine, named after the meteorite that fell in the Tunisian desert that served as the set for Tatooine in Star Wars. Instead of tasting like burnt up space rocks, these come in flavors like white chocolate with grapefruit and earl grey tea, and bitter chocolate with hazelnut praline.

I'm going to refer you to a meteorologist.

All I'm saying is that now is the time to develop the technology to deflect an asteroid.

Nothing is impossible.

Which wolf wins?

The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday.

My last "big life change" was made with this as the key motivation, as recommended by Mark Twain: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Jen and I use this when making big choices too. We also determine absolute worst case scenario (usually "broke, bankrupt & living in the in-law's basement with *awesome* stories") so we know exactly what the choice is. Then we choose ADVENTURE!!!

Most intergalactic things have to be good!

Agree with this one.
