After the tremendous floods in India last year, Christ Gospel Church went to nearby affected areas and passed out clean water and food to local residents whose homes and livelihoods had been decimated by the flooding. Here you can see Rev. Luke Yelchuri helping those in need.
As you can see, there is tremendous demand to be included in the sewing program.
Women are sponsored by Christ Gospel Churches of India to take get a certificate in sewing; the program is free for participants. Many of these women are single mothers, who find it hard to gain employment in India. Others may wish to add income to their families. After graduating, CGC gives them their own sewing machine so they can begin work immediately. Many of the participants otherwise might not be able to afford a sewing machine.
Rev. Joseph Yelchuri stands with the graduates of the Christ Gospel Churches of India Sewing Program. CGC sponsors women through a sewing program that teaches them how to sew. This gives them a valuable skill that they can use to get a job or to save money by making clothes at home (which is cheaper than buying them in stores).
