LOLOLOL The Fliz Bike has no pedals, no gears and no bicycle seat. All that is left are a pair of wheels and a bike frame with a torso-hugging harness. The German concept design is in the running for the James Dyson design award, which is somewhat ironic considering Dyson invented the fan with no blades.
Locomoting about on wheels isn’t always about finding the most efficient method to do so. There’s nothing wrong with having a bit of fun in the process, and the Fliz contraption you see above seems to fit the bill. In one way it’s like a bicycle, only there’s no pedals and no saddle, only a harness and a large u-shape frame from which you suspend. FLIZ is a design concept for a pedal-less bike that the rider propels by running. The bike frame suspends the rider above the ground so they can run with ease, a benefit that may prove useful for people with mobility problems. Designers Tom Hambrock and Yuri Spetter drew their inspiration from the Laufmaschine, an early 1800s precursor to the bicycle.
